Trouble Copying From Document Feeder Spc252sf

Every time we try to copy from the document feeder, an error comes up on screen saying the bypass tray is empty. I've checked the settings at the IP address and everything is set for Tray 1 priority. We do not want to use the bypass tray. How can we get it to pull from tray 1?

Check your paper size setting. Make sure that when you print, the printer preferences (as well as the document settings in the Page Setup section on Windows computers) is set for either the size of paper loaded in tray 1, or else auto select. If it is set for a different size, which can happen inadvertently, especially with downloaded documents, the printer will ask for that size paper to be loaded in the bypass tray.
