Red Screen

My screen is red but I can still see the picture. This problem would come and go, now it is staying red. Any idea if this can be repaired or what part has failed? Is this common for this television?

this is highly likely a faulty LVDS cable or the connections to it.

sometimes disconnecting and reattaching it will fix this problem.

this cable is a flat shaped cable that hooks the back of the LCD panel and the main board (the board with the input jacks). the part number is right on the cable (it's either BN96-07611U or BN96-07766K)
