My diagnosis regarding this problem: Pioneer System Shuts Off Automatically Before The Dvd And Cds Are Finished. Answer: I believe it is a channel problem. Why? When I add addition speakers with woolfers and tweeters, the pioneer stereo shuts off--before the DVDs and CDs finish. Also, just by disconnecting the additional speaker wires from the speakers with the woolfers and tweeters, but not from the back of the Pioneer systems red and black speaker slots--did not correct the problem. The solution was this: I needed to totally remove all external wires from the Pioneer system. Yes, it was necessary for me to totally disconnect the speaker wires from the back of the pioneer system too! Why? Even though the wires were disconnected from the speakers--but not from the Pioneer system speaker ports, the Pioneer system still kept responding as if the speakers were still connected to the Pioneer system. Once I disconnected both the additional speakers and wiring completely, my Pioneer system now plays perfectly! The only thing I can't do is add additional speakers. That is why I think the problem is a bad channel.
