Help Needed Brother Jc 220

Hi there,I recently followed your most helpful instructions on re-setting the purge count on a Brother JC 220 printer.The printer began to work again and managed to print out 16 documents.Then, it stopped working again, and displayed the message: UNABLE TO INITIATE 4F.I tried re-setting the purge count again, but even with the count at 0000, the above error message remained.I have checked for paper jams and have cleared the document log etc. - all for no result.Is there anything else I can do while in 'Maintenance Mode' to get the printer going again?Cheerz,Terry.Sent from Windows Mail

Go here for possible solution. You may also try this; Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message.
