This Unit Stopped Responding To The Remote

I bought town of these units at the same time. Just today one stopped responding to the remote control. I tried new batteries and nothing. Even tried the remote from the other reciever and still no luck. I tried holding the power button in for 5 seconds while off, got the clearing message and still no remote response. Any help would be appreciated

There is a software (firmware) update for this model. What you described is exactly what the same audio amplifier recently bought from my friend does.

If you unplug the power cord from outlet and plug it again after a few seconds the problem will dissapear for a while.

You should go to Sony service center to update the firmware of the processor of the amplifier. Thats what I know. There is a bulletin in a Sony service database with the firmware update and instructions for updating. It is required that the service center has an appropriate Jig in order to do the update. Not all service centers has one unfortunately. Hope this information will help.
