Gt54ls With Electronic Locking Differential But No Switch!!!

I have a GT54LS that has the K66 transmission with the electronic activated locking differential (EALD) but there is no switch to found to control it. I found the wires to the EALD and have gotten to lock and unlock by hot wiring to the battery and then reversing to positive cable, but again I cannot find an activation switch anywhere on the tractor. Any ideas or did I get messed up mower?Don in TN

There are a couple of possibilities for why you can't find the EALD activation switch on your Husqvarna GT54LS:

Incorrect Model Information: It's possible that the information you found about the EALD being present on your specific model (GT54LS with K66 transmission) might be incorrect. Husqvarna might not have offered the EALD on all variants of the GT54LS or with the K66 transmission specifically. You can check your owner's manual or contact Husqvarna support to confirm if the EALD was indeed offered on your model.

Missing or Faulty Switch: Even if the EALD is supposed to be on your model, the switch itself might be missing due to previous modifications or malfunction. In this case, you'd need to look for replacement parts or consult a Husqvarna mechanic to see if the switch can be installed.

Alternative Engagement Method: Some differentials with EALD might have an automatic engagement mechanism that activates based on certain conditions (like low traction) instead of a manual switch. It's possible your model has this type of system.

Here's what you can do to troubleshoot further:

Consult the Owner's Manual: Refer to your Husqvarna GT54LS owner's manual for any information on the EALD and its activation method. The manual should have a diagram showing the switch location if it's supposed to be present.

Contact Husqvarna Support: husqvarna.com has a customer support section where you can contact their representatives. You can explain your model (GT54LS with K66 transmission) and inquire about the EALD activation switch.

Search Online Forums: Search online forums specific to Husqvarna tractors or lawnmowers. You might find discussions related to the EALD on the GT54LS where other users share their experiences or troubleshooting tips.
