My Tv Has No Picture
Hello, I have a samsung HP-P4261. This TV is on almost all the time. I turned it off today and when I went to turn it back on it would not work. I unplugged it for about 10 minutes and tried again and the sound came on but there is no picture. as a side note when it first quit working I could see the standby light flash every few seconds then stop, then a few seconds later it would blink a few more times then quit. After I got the sound to work about 10 minutes later the sound quit and now there is nothing. But the standby light is still doing the 5 blinks and stop for a few seconds. It keeps doing that now. Can you help me please? I know a bit about electronics and should be able to understand a moderately technical reply. So fuses, caps and minor boards and such I can replace without a problem.......except getting that heavy thing off the wall so I can work on it. ;)

there is a good chance the capacitors on the power supply are damaged.
remove the back and check for capacitors on the power supply that has the top puffed up slightly. If you find any, replace them. These parts (capacitors) are available at places like Radio Shack. you can either replace them yourself, or take the power supply board and the capacitors to a local TV shop and they will likely charge $20 to replace them for you. The power supply is the module that the AC cord plugs into, and the value of the capacitors is printed on the side. Normally the bad ones are rated at 10vdc-16vdc and they could be 1000 to 2200 microfarads. These capacitors will look like a cylinder with a silver top. Google bad capacitors on LCD HDTV and you will see massive amounts of data.
