How To Replace The Bevel Lock Washer On A Ryobi Rts30

I can only take you part way on this but here goes. First order a replacement part. I got mine fromereplacementparts.com/, others may have it but that is where I got mine. Cost is about $5 including shipping. Look carefully at how your lock is attached. The broken part faces up, incidentally the grooved part facing outward.

Once you have the replacement part you can take it apart. Use your hex wrench to take of the lock lever and set the part aside (the lever and hex nut). Then use the 14 mm box end wrench to loosen the nut on the underside of the lock .mechanism (turn the saw upside down to get at it). Remove the bolt part of the assembly after noting the position of the plastic piece that fits into the spring and the washer and bolt that fits on the bottom. Note: you have to take the lever part off so you can take the bolt part out.

Put it back together. You may have to adjust the tension on the spring to get it to lock down properly. Good luck.
