That is a fax error code, referring to a problem dialing out. Check the fax line and be sure it is plugged into the correct port on the back of the machine. If you have a spare phone, plug that phone into the line and see if you can hear any static on the line. Make sure you are getting a dial tone. Try dialing the same number you were faxing to, with the telephone and see if the call goes through. If it goes through fine and you can hear clearly, the fax board may need to be replaced.
