Transmission Logs
i do not want one to print after every fax or scan, only when there is a problem

You can turn off the transmission log for your printer through the Embedded Web Server of your printer. To do that, get the IP address of your printer and type it in the address bar of your browser. Once you have the EWS of your printer, click on Settings > Fax Settings > Analog Fax Setup > Under Fax Log Settings, turn of the transmission log or set to "do not print log".
