Ram Upgrade

I just installed 4 2g ram sticks in my 5800 microtower. Now when i turn it on i get no video and the internal speaker beeps at me. Did i miss a step?

Based on my research, your Compaq dc5800 accepts up to 8 Gigabytes capacity of the RAM cards. However, keep in mind that it has a Dual channel memory architecture. Although the computer can handle 8 gigabytes of RAM, it only reads the first 2 RAMs. You should have installed the 2 pieces 4 Gigabytes of RAM to make it 8.
