Uniden Tru9485-2 Handsets Round Button Not Working

I have the Uniden Tru9485-2 and both handsets the round button in the middle with the caller ID and phone book is not working. Can this be fixed or what?

You have to dissassemble the phone, there are 2 screws under the battery cover, and another 5 inside, a small phillips screwdriver is needed.

Carefully remove the back, it is attached to the circuit board, so dont pull the wires off. you will need to remove the circuit board from the face of the phone, this is easy to do.

Now, use a lint free papertowel, and some rubbing alcohol, and clean the contacts on the circuit board, they are little gold colored things that mesh together.

There is also a white plastic pad in there, clean both sides carefully. You will notice on the number pad that the circle button has 4 black dots. These are a conductor, that makes the connection on the circuit board. Carefully clean these, making sure that you dont leave any dust behind.

Reassemble your phone, and it should work great again. You may need to clean the contacts a few times to get it perfect.

I just did this on the 3 phones I have here, and they now all work like new again.
