Video Chat

I'm trying to download an app for video chat, that's free. I've tried Skype but they want a 3 month subscription, I've tried the Google Hangouts but this didn't work.I am trying to set up the video chat with another galaxy tab a, I thought it would be a simple app but that's not the case. Are there any apps I can get for this?

Skype should work fine. They only require a subscription if you want to call actual phone numbers. Calling other Skype users is completely free.
