My Pioneer Elite Receiver Is Showing The Ue-22 Error, How Do I Fix It.

According to the User manual a UE22 code indicates a failed software update. ... If you haven't tried to update the firmware in the receiver then perhaps the wrong buttons have been operated on the remote control which placed the receiver in the update "mode".

You don't. Your receiver is now toast. This is a very well-known hardware failure involving defective TI components that affected thousands of Pioneer receivers. It got so bad that Onkyo (who took over Pioneer) was, up until earlier this year, offering an extended warranty repair. That has ended. You, like thousands of others, have been abandoned by Pioneer/Onkyo. A little Google search will turn up a forum thread (https://www.avsforum.com/threads/ue22-error-master-thread-pioneer-are-you-listening.2066818/) with extensive information on this problem. All suggested fixes (firmware updates, heating the affected components, etc.) are at the very best short-lived and very temporary. The manual is useless in this situation. Take the receiver to an electronics recycling / junk depot and move on - preferably with a product not made by Pioneer or Onkyo (it's a very short list.)
