'source' Switches By Itself
I have an HP CPTOH~0602 television. With increasing frequency, the "Select Source" screen will appear, the picture will disappear, as the highlight bar moves off of the "HDMI"selection and scrolls through the choices on its own. As long as the bar is moving through the choices on its own, the remote control is not able to stop the bar from moving. I first noticed this happening in the Spring and Summer when there is more humidity in the air. It rarely occurred in the winter. It is occurring now. (I live in New York City ). What may be the cause of this and is there any possible solution?

We need to correct model code of the TV to be able to help any further. It may be a problem with your PC Graphics but more likely is interference during the periods you state. Remotes use the same fequency range as microwaves and all the other devices for around the house communication.

It does discuss the problems with remotes but external forces could still be your problem. Check out the HP ideas. I assume you have fitted new batteries,that is the first point. Is the TV screen facing a window? Try placing it in another position away from outside sources to test. This sort of problem can be difficult to resolve. Lastly there could be a problem with the TV but as you state it only happens during certain times of the year which makes it weirder. By all means place another question after trying these tests and we can see what we can come up with. TV with a mind of its own maybe?
