Reinstall Of E709 All In One Won't Recognize That The Usb Cable Is Hooked Up.

My printer suddenly wouldn't print the black ink. After sleaning the heads etc., I finally decided to uninstall and reinstall the driver. I downloaded and reinstalled the driver which seemed to be successful. It then asked about the hook up to the printer. I have it hooked up with a USB cable which I unhooked and rehooked. The computer makes the recognition sound when I hook it up but the set up window keeps asking me to connect it. Also when I try to make copies w/o the computer, the printer still won't print the black. I could sure use some help!
