I was watching my 42" LED tv by LG a week ago Saturday night when it abruptly shut off. No matter what I did with the power, connections, the video and sound was completely blank when the TV was turned on (not even the "No signal" logo). We called customer service and after giving us some suggestions they told us they'd send someone to repair the tv between 1 and 5pm on Tuesday. Early Tuesday we called and they confirmed someone would be over later in the day, but when we didn't hear from them we called and they told us that someone would be coming over Wednesday instead. The guy came over and told us it would take five minutes to fix the tv. He took it apart, tried replacing a few parts, and came to the conclusion that it needed a new board (bear in mind the tv was purchased brand new only seven months ago). He said he would order the part and could come this Saturday to install it. Today (Friday), he calls saying that he's unable to get hold of the part and he'll have to delay the repair work until he gets hold of it. We called up LG and they told us that they have plenty of boards available (this after we suggested simply sending us a new replacement tv).
