Since you can't boot up & don't have a backup source the you will need to completely reset it back to the original windows settings you must re-format your computer. Boot to your windows install cd. This won't put the original programs back on it that you had before, but it will give your computer a fresh install. Meaning also that if you want to keep some data you must put it on some external drive because your hard drive will be completely overwritten.

If you want to get it back to just the factory settings, you could try to contact their customer services if they don't anything on their site to help you, although I would not recommend it. Factory settings aren't the best because they usually put stuff on your computer that you don't really want. Re-formatting is the best thing to do.

I hope this is helpful to you!

Unfortunately if it's not detecting the hard drive then the hard drive has likely failed. I recommend bringing the laptop to a local repair shop to have it looked at.
