shadow is often caused by using an A/B splitter with lower quality cables. You might have this problem (shadows) with analog connections like composite and s-video and VGA. Use HDMI, if you can.

Otherwise, a DLP shouldn't have a convergence issue unless it has a poor lense (convergence error by chromatic aberration).
