How Can I Correct Error 990?

Hello.  I am an Oki Data helpdesk technician from Oki Data America's. This error may be related to the fuser.  Power off the printer. Open the top cover of the printer.  At the back, you will see a black unit with a yellow caution sticker on it. This is the fuser unit.  Unlock the two blue latches of both sides of the fuser, grab onto the handle, and pull the fuser out.  Check for any paper jams. Remove if any then reinstall the fuser and lock the blue latches back into the lock position. Close the cover and power the printer back on. If the error does not clear, the fuser unit will need to be replaced.

After giving the fuser answer a try ($260 bucks) I called Okidata Tech Support. Error 990 refers to the toner capture sensor unit, that black knob looking thing on the toner cartridge itself. Like the person asking the question related to this answer, the error popped up right after changing the toner cartridge - therefore, it's a defective toner cartridge. I changed it and the problem disappeared.
