Lexmark - Label Form Feed Incorrect Serial Vs Parallel

We have a Lexmark 4227 loaded with continuous fan fold labels. When it is connected directly to a PC, using a serial connection through a DataRay print server, the alignment is correct. When we connect using a parallel cable to a JetDirect and configure as a network printer, the first label prints correctly, but then an unwanted form feed occurs so that subsequent labels are not aligned. Any ideas? Thanks
