Hdmi Cable Connection Promblem

i have a lenovo e49 laptop . my promblem is when i connect the hdmi cable to the tv the videos and pictures are available but i dont get the audio and even in the playback devices the default option is not highlighted and cannot be set but it comes foe the laptop speakers hope you understand my problem. plz help..!
