Replacing Hard Drive On Kyocera Km-4050i

The lease is ending on my KM-4050i and we need to clear all information off of the hard drive. For security purposes, we will replace the existing hard drive with a similar 40GB IDE drive. I need to know if it is as simple as pulling the old drive and connecting the new drive or if there are any utlilities that need to run to prepare the new drive for service. Our vendor will charge us if the machine is not operational on return. Our copier company will charge $360+ for this "service" which is ridiculous for a $20 part replacement.
