Can I Replace Garage Door Screwdrive Motor, With Chain Drive Motor?

circuit board burned out on my Genie Garage door screwdrive motor. Since unit over 20 years old I was going to just replace motor. Can I replace Garage door screwdrive motor, with chain drive motor? Or do you suggest I stay with screwdrive motor?
