Probably. See https://files.support.epson.com/pdf/pl1830/pl183000ug.pdf#page=147&view=FitV&pagemode=none. (What you see as a red light is described by Epson as orange.)

If all else fails, you may have to phone Espson [800-533-3731].

If the lamp light is flashing red then it means Lamp or lamp cover has a problem. R26; Close the lamp cover securely. R26; Check to see if the lamp is burned out, broken, or installed incorrectly. Reseat or replace the lamp as necessary. R26; Make sure that the vents and air filter are not clogged with dust or obstructed by nearby objects. R26; If operating the projector at high altitude, turn on High Altitude Mode. R26; If the problem persists, unplug the projector and contact Epson for help.

but if the the lamp light, temperature light and the power light are flashing red it means Internal projector error. Turn the projector off, unplug it, and contact Epson for help.
