Hi. Was the FaxPhone configured for either of the functions? See pages 13 & 15 for assistance with configurations/setup if it was not off the Starter Guide here https://www.helpowl.com/manuals/Canon/FAXPHONEL90/70128 Otherwise, there is a troubleshooting guide off the Reference Guide on the same link
