n 90 N Upgrading Your VAIO Computer Removing and Installing a Memory Module To change or add a memory module 1 Shut down the computer and disconnect all peripheral devices. 2 Unplug the computer and remove the battery pack. 3 Wait until the computer cools down. 4 Unscrew the screw (1) on the bottom of the computer, hook your fingertip under the tab (2), and lift the memory module compartment cover in the direction of the arrow to remove it from the computer. 5 Touch a metal object to discharge static electricity.

Do not touch any other components on the computer. n 92 N Upgrading Your VAIO Computer 8 Slide the memory module into the memory module slot and push it in until it clicks into the slot while aligning the notch on the module with the small projection in the open slot. Do not damage the insulation sheet equipped for module protection. 9 Replace the memory module compartment cover. 10 Tighten the screw on the bottom of the memory module into place. ! Be sure to insert the connector edge of the computer. 11 Reinstall the battery pack and turn on the motherboard.
