occasional shutdowns and now its dead jim
I'm looking for a replacement motherboard for my M151XL. It had shut down a few times, I assume due to overheating. After the last shutdown, there's no turning back on again. Found replacement boards on Ebay, but am disappointed that the component rplacement manual on this site does not talk about replacing the motherboard. Only hard drives, DVD, memory, Wifi. Grrr. Will have to figure it out for myself. Also need to repair part of the bottom panel, as one of the battery lock clips has vanished inside the thing. I got a new bottom panel on Ebay already, didn't get around to that while the thing was still alive. Maybe a metal spring did something bad?Was fairly decent while it lived. Decent performance, maxed out to 4GB RAM and gave it Win7 Pro 64bit, and that did pretty well with virtual machines in VirtualBox. I've only used the extended battery, never the standard one, and that gave me a few hours of runtime. Enough to get through a class at school, but not much more than that.
