The recording standard on the tape will distinguish between the video signal standards used by the camera section of the XL H1, and the recording standards used by the recorder section of the XL H1. About the HD/HDV and SD/DV Specifications Throughout the manual we will be set to HD (high definition) or SD (standard definition) specifications.
