Release the keyboard by pulling down on the palm rest. iBook G4 Keyboard - 5 Firmly grasp the cable, and carefully pull it straight up , do not twist or pull the cable sideways. Figure 8 5. Set the keyboard aside. 2. Locate the keyboard cable connector. (Figure 8) 4. Important: Pull straight up until the connector releases. Note: If needed, use your fingers to pry up the connector from side to side. Firmly insert the keyboard cable connector into its connector cable. 2. Figure 9 iBook G4 Keyboard - 6 Installing the Replacement Keyboard 1. Insert the RAM shield. (Figure 9) 4. Make sure that the shield sits uniformly flat. 5. Tighten the RAM shield screws. Lay the replacement keyboard in the correct orientation over the keyboard opening, then flip it toward you and lay it face down on the palm rest to expose its connector on the shield and computer align and that the screw holes on the computer. 3.

Close the display and turn the iBook over your iBook and open the display. 8. Reconnect the power cord and any other cables that the keyboard rests flush against the edge of the keyboard.
