Sony Str-de595 - Fm Stereo/fm-am Receiver Protect Mode

My Sony STR-DE595 receiver recently crackled a little and then went to protect mode. The manual says it is due to a short in the system. I turned it off, disconnected a speaker and then turned it back on and it just went in protect mode. I repeated this with each speaker and connection and had no success. Is there any easy fix such as a fuse or anything I can do?
