Gas Cap Light On, Changed Gas Vap. Check Engine Light Also On

It's good you replaced the gas cap on your 2009 Lincoln MKX, but since the gas cap light and check engine light are both still on, there could be a few reasons:
Incomplete Reset: Even though you replaced the gas cap, the check engine light might not reset itself immediately. Sometimes, driving for a few cycles (filling up the tank and using a significant amount of gas) is enough for the computer to recognize everything is sealed and turn off the light.
