Marine Cdx-m10 Fm/am Cd Player

I relaced a am/fm cassette player in my 1997 Bayliner. I used the harness off the old radio and wired it to the Sony unit using the wiring diagram. When I connected the harness to the one in the boat I hear noise like the power is coming on ( CD type noise) but there is no radio or no CD. It sounds like the power is coming on, but nothing.
