Louder Ring Settings For Internet

I would like to know how to make my Samsung SGH-A847 to ring louder. It is set on seven but you can barely hear someone talk.I use Straight Talk and I can't get it set where I can use the internet or send and receive pictures? My settings are as they say set them, but all I can do is send and receive calls. Can you help?

- Ringtone Volume: allows you to select the volume for the ringtone.The range is from 1-7. If you are at 7, the volume is at max. to increase the callers volume press the up volume key during a conversation.
