Sc-65 'peak' Light Comes On Only When In The Cd Mode.

Cambridge Audio Blu-ray player has the ability to turn down the output signal turning the light off but I like to use my Denon cd player which does not have this function. I can't seem to find any support on this even with Pioneer. Do you have any advise? I don't want to burn up my amp.
