'gallery Will Be Quit Due To Not Enough Storage Space'.

I have an old Pantech Marauder phone. I don't have too many apps on here. I do have lots of txt msgs, photos, and a Spotify app. (No social media apps). I can't take any more photos or even get into the Gallery to delete photos to make room because I keep getting "Gallery will be quit due to not enough storage space". I've deleted cache, re-started phone, etc. But I can't solve this issue. Can anyone please help me? : /
