Nordictrack Asr 630 Elliptical Belt Too Tight

Tension settings are too tight, even at the easiest setting. How do we fix this.

I have the same exact unit and was searching today regarding issues with the crank bearing assembly. The nut on both sides keeps coming off, especially if we use higher resistance than 3. I hope you dont have this same problem.

How to adjust the belt:

If the pedals slip while pedaling or if the tension seems to tight, as you indicated, remove the left pedal arm and the left link arm.

Carefully pry off the disc cover using a flat screwdriver. Next remove the four screws from the center of the left disc. Gently rotate the disc cover and the disc away from the elliptical.

Loosen but do not remove the three screws which are part of the belt tensioner. Insert a screwdriver downward between the idler and the idler pully, pull the top of the screwdriver toward the front of the ellipitcal until the belt is tight, then tighten the three screws.

Keep in mind that if the tension is not enough, you will feel slipping while pedaling.
