Suggestions For Easy To Use Home Router?
We have a home network in our family that consists of two wired PCs, two wireless laptops, a wireless Wii, and a wireless iPad.
For many, many years we've been using a combination of two Linksys routers - a wired BEFSR41 and a wireless WAP54G. These two have been real workhorses, and I've never had any issues with them.
However, I know everything has it's breaking point, and I'm trying to look ahead to what's next. I don't think Linksys even makes those two models any more, and I don' want to buy one second hand or refurbrished.
I was looking at the website and there are so many options, it's confusing and overwhelming. I'm not very technical, so I need something easy to use and basic.
Can anyone please recommend a home router that has both wired and wireless capabilities, and can be easily managed for a non-technical person? The only things I really like to do as far as administration is set the password, security and MAC address filters. One option that would be nice, but isn't necessary, would be to turn off at certain times, like say when we're all sleeping, to save energy. Right now I just do that the old fashioned way by pulling the plug, but it would be nice to be able to do that automatically.
