Wifi Connectivity Issues

I bought a P500 ideapad a month or two ago and have been having "issues" when changing wifi networks.  Let me expand a bit, computer works fine when I'm at my house, put it to sleep mode and take it to class, when I get to class, it remembers the school's network and login info but will not connect.  I have tried waiting for 5 minutes and also attempted manual input connection but to no avail.  I end up having to restart my computer and then it will connect.  It also happens when I return to my house and other places as well. This leads me to believe it is a software/firmware issue because I did not experience anything like this with my previous laptop. Is there a firmware update or some other way to fix this? Also, my router is brand new and other devices in the house are not experiencing similar problems.

If you are having a problem with the Wi-Fi of your Lenovo IdeaPad P500, I suggest there might be a problem with the driver software which requires reinstallation. Reinstall the driver by using the software from Lenovo software. Here's the link to the download page.
