Out Of Ink Message With New Ink Cartridge
I have an HP L7500 multifunction printer. I keep getting a message to replace the black ink cartridge even though I just purchased and installed a brand new HP 88XL cartridge. I remove and reinstall the cartridge and the screen briefly shows a full cartridge. Within ten seconds, however, the indicator changes to a ! symbol and the message comes up to replace the cartridge. Can this be fixed?

If the new cartridge in NOT an actual HP cartridge but rather a 3rd party one or refilled this can occur. The best results are from new HP cartridges.
Try removing the cartridge and cleaning the metal contacts on both the cartridge and the slot VERY CAREFULLY with a cotton swap with a dab of rubbing alcohol. Do not make it wet, just damp and don't get alcohol on anything but the metal contacts. Blow it dry before reinstalling.
If the problem still exists the cartridge or printer may be defective. I would get another cartridge since that's the cheapest solution.
