4620 Officejet Starts Page Print Fine But Trails Off To Blank; New Ink Cartridge

Bought HP 4620 printer 12/8/12. Was able to set up wirelessly without a problem. Read instructions and inserted ink cartridges. First 2 pages printed without incident. After that, all printed pages would start off well, but the ink on page would lighten until no visibility by end of page. Tried to work with the original cartridges to no avail. Finally put out more than $40 for all new ink cartridges from Office Max. Even with new ink cartridges, I still cannot print a full page of color text with some images without the ink diminishing to a blank page by end of one page. I have had to resort to using the back of previously printed pages because I'm going through too much paper trying to resolve the issue. Please help me to solve my problem. What good is a printer if it doesn't print?
