Error Code 5010 On Canon Mp470

My Canon MP470 printer, on start-up, makes a rattling sound and I can see the silver bar and white plastic rollers turning very fast when lifting the cover. The lights flash green and amber, one then the other, and the error code 5010 is seen on the LCD screen. It will not print or perform any function at that time. Also, the scanning wand under the top cover struggles to travel half an inch, then retreats to its parked position at the far left. I lubricated the gears which make the wand move to no avail. The manual lists no such error code as 5010. I've tried unplugging it for 20 minutes and plugging it back in and pushing the STOP/RESET button - neither does anything. Also, there are very few new copiers to be found for sale online at this time (end of October 2020). HELP!

Please try the following to see if we can resolve your issue:

1. Turn the printer off.

2. Unplug the power from the printer for at least 5-10 minutes.

3. While unplugged, remove any paper from the unit.

4. Double check for any obstructions found in the unit or paper paths.

5. If no obstructions are found, plug the power back in and turn the unit on.
