Broken Drivers Seat Frame Weld

I just found out my 2010 CTS has a broken weld in the drivers side seat frame and will cost me over $1000 to have it replaced. I have read there has been recalls on other Cadillac models because of defective welds on the seat frames that break at these welds. What can be done about these faulty welds out of warranty?
