Asus X59sl Cannot Be Seen, Even In The Device Manager.

It is a gift from my cousin. He was using Windows 7 and told me there were no drivers for the camera. However, he told me the machine was built for vista and has drivers for the webcam camera. I was very interested in using the camera and hence uninstalled the Windows and installed Vista. Even since, I cannot see the camera, even in the device manager. I asked him and he said it was working very well before he changed the OS. One thing, the piece of paper normally pasted below the machine that gives details about it serial number, etc, is complete wiped off. Hence, I find myself at the end the tunnel as to what to do in order to put it to use. Please, is there anything that can be done about it? thank you
