Asus X59sl Webcam Camera Cannot Be Seen, Even In The Device Manager

Sorry for making an error in questioning in the last post; after reading it, I discovered the error right from the caption. Hence, permit me to retake it. My machine is a gift from a cousin who resides in France. He unistalled the original OS (Vista 32bit) and installed Windows 7. However, he told me he was not using the webcam because (as he said) Windows 7 hadn't its drivers. So, of late, since I very much cherished using the camera, I changed it back to Vista. Unfortunately, uptil date, I cannot see the Webcam Camera, even in the device manager to obtain its PID Number. (There is no sub: IMAGING DEVICE) from which it could have been obtained. I wrote back to my cousin and he told me it was there and used to work very well. Hence, at least, I know that it exists. But now, there are just no indications for its existence. Also, the piece of paper on which is imprinted its S/N, etc and pasted at the bottom of the machine is also completely wiped off. Hence, I am blocked. Could you, tell me how to go about it?

Your computer does not have any driver for Web Camera device. According to my research, Asus X59SL does not support Windows 7 Operating System. This means that you cannot use the Web Camera on a Windows 7 Operating System. The driver software available currently supports the following Operating Systems.
  • Windows Vista 32/64 bit
  • Windows XP 32/64 bit
  • DOS

You can download the drivers from the link below.
