Microwave Oven Stops Heating

This is a new microwave oven combination but it is out of warranty because we were remodeling our kitchen and we just got it in and now the microwave will only heat for about two minutes and stops heating.  The unit continues to run and you don't even know it stops working till you go to get the food out and find it is cold.  You can hear the magnetron or what ever it is called run and after the two minutes you can hear it stop running.  Does anyone know the problem and can it be repaired by me and does it have to be taken out of the wall unit it is in?
