Reformatted Toshiba P35-s609

When upgrading from xp home to xp pro I reformatted the 80 GB hard drive. After using Toshiba Recovery and Application/driver dvd Satellite P30/P35 series computer is now looing for OS dvd. Computer only comes on in slow mode with no internet and dvd will not load install any peograms from the dvd. Seems computer is missing many files. What can I do to fix this problem?

You need to use the recovery DVD that contains the operating system if you want to restore it to the way it was when you bought it. If you install XP Pro instead, then you have to load drivers for it manually since the recovery DVD is intended for the original OS and not the Pro version.

If you can see the driver files on the DVD when exploring it (on another computer, if necessary), then simply open Device Manager and install the drivers as needed, pointing the search to the DVD.

 

Otherwise, you can go to the Toshiba site and download the recent versions.
