Dvd Mounting Problem With Sony Esprit Tav L1.

I have owned this TV 4 years from new and it now will not mount DVD's as it is saying 'disc is dirty'. I registered the 5 Year Warranty 6 days after purchasing this TV but Sony refuse to honour the 5 Year Warranty given with this TV as they say I need a plan code from Legal & Domestic Insurance. L & G say they do not offer more than 12 months warranty on this TV as it is a 'Special Promotion' Warranty from Sony, even though they have details of my ownership. I cannot, in the last 4 months get any offer of repair from both companies, especially Sony but also the store that sold the UK TV to me. Please can you offer advice as to what i should do as neither company wants to listen to my claim of Warranty.
