Is Lamp Really Out?

the projector turns on just fine, goes through the warm up phase witht the blue notevision projection, but shortly after it warms up it goes dark and the green light starts blinking. when it is first turned on I can scrool through the different settings and it shows that the lamp is at 53%???... I read in the manual this indicates the lamp is going out...
