After a few days use the laser line ceased being a line and it appeared that the light was being diffused rather than focused. Is this a known problem with a solution? Are there adjustments that can be made to the laser?

Refer to page 31 of the trilingual user manual available at the this link or access the help-owl manuals and obtain the English version. If you search for laser adjustment it gives instructions on aligning the laser. It may be that yours is badly aligned or the settings have slipped since new.
